UPF50+ Certification

Our UPF50+ Certification

At Elara Kids, every thread begins with protection. Parents should not have to guess whether their baby’s clothing truly shields their delicate skin from the sun. That is why we made sure our fabric is not just soft and breathable, but also independently tested and certified to the highest global sun protection standard.

What Does UPF50+ Mean?

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor — it is the clothing equivalent of SPF (sunscreen). While SPF measures how well lotions protect skin, UPF measures how effectively fabric blocks harmful UV radiation. UPF50+ is the gold standard. It means the fabric blocks at least 98% of harmful UVA and UVB rays, allowing less than 2% to pass through. For parents, that means peace of mind: your little one is shielded during outdoor play, stroller walks, or even by the sunny window at home.

Tested & Certified by Intertek Singapore

To ensure Elara Kids products meet the highest level of safety, our fabrics were tested and certified by Intertek Singapore, a leading global testing and certification body. Testing was conducted under the Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4399, the internationally recognised benchmark for UV-protective clothing. Our bamboo-blend fabric achieved the highest possible rating: UPF50+. Certification means this is not just our claim — it is science-backed and independently verified.

Why Certified Clothing Matters More Than Claims

Many fabrics provide some natural sun protection, but without certification, parents cannot be sure how effective they really are. With Elara Kids, you can trust that: Every piece is made with luxuriously soft, hypoallergenic bamboo, gentle on sensitive skin. Certification ensures consistent, reliable sun safety. Because our baby’s comfort should never come at the expense of their protection.

What It Means for Us & Our Tiny Explorer

By choosing Elara Kids certified UPF50+ babywear, you are:

  • Giving your child the highest standard of everyday sun safety.
  • Choosing a safer, softer alternative to sunscreen for infants too young for lotions.
  • Supporting a brand that believes in transparency, trust, and rigorous testing.

It is more than fabric. It is a quiet shield, woven into every seam, so your tiny explorer can nap, crawl, stretch, and play — always protected.
